  • This workshop is open to all. No prior background required.

Old High German represents the earliest stage of the German language. Along with its linguistic relatives, Gothic and Old English, Old High German boasts one of the most substantial and varied bodies of writing among the early medieval Germanic languages. The corpus of Old High German literature encompasses a rich and exciting range of texts: lays recalling the pre-Christian Germanic past, poems celebrating warrior saints, Germanic reimaginings of the Bible, and even magical pagan charms.
